The EBLI Approach
EBLI stands for Evidenced-Based Literacy Instruction (EBLI).
EBLI is a “Speech-to-Print” or Structured Linguistic Literacy approach to reading: the spoken word is the initial focus, then the written word. Speech-to-Print methods are not new, but are now becoming more well known as we learn more about the way language, reading, and writing are synthesized in our brains. EBLI utilizes a child's natural ability to speak to teach the unnatural activity of reading.
EBLI instruction accelerates student learning. Traditional reading intervention can take years to work, yet EBLI intervention typically leads to students making progress in weeks and months. The activities are fast-paced and engaging! Your child's skills and effort are celebrated often and with gusto!
